Pre-Flight Inspection
The pre-flight inspection with Tim was what they do before and after every single flight. He took us around the plane and told us what he does to each part. He basically just checks to see if anything is loose, cracked, broken, or not there. If anything is wrong with the plane he then reports it to Socrates the plane manager to fix anything thats wrong.
Airplane Operation
Mike took each and every one of us inside the plane to show us all the buttons and how each manuvere of the yoke moves the different parts of the plane. He also told us about all the different VOR's and what they were used for. It was cool to see how when you moved the yoke you could actually see what moves on the plane.
Navigation
Steve told us before you take off you need make sure you have multiple plans on where to land. He also told us how to comunicate through different towers. He also said at which altitudes to fly at different levels. He also talked about how you have to contact the tower before entering at a certain distance away from the tower.
Pilot Training
In pilot training Tim talked about the steps to become a fully liscened pilot. He said there a multiple steps before coming one. You have to do a certain number of hours flying and landing. He also showed us a pair of goggles that made you look at the VORs instead of around the plane.
Maintenance
Socrates showed us one of the engines he was doing maintenance on. He described each and every one of the parts on the engine. He also said what each of the parts did. He also told us that every year there has to be a 100 hour inspection on each plane.
Conclusion Questions
1.One thing i learned is that on an average the planes they had in there costs between 400 to 450 thousand dollars.
2.One thing i already knew was what the first 6 VORs meant when Mike explained them to us.
3.Has there ever been a crash at his airport?
4.To somehow give us more time at the airport because i feel the time was too limited
